Pediatric orthopedics
Pediatric orthopedics concerns the assessment and therapeutic management of pathologies of the musculoskeletal system of children, adolescents and young adults suffering from problems typically linked to the growing skeleton.
Our specialized pediatric orthopedic consultation provides diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical treatment for congenital (malformations present from birth) and acquired disorders (deformation and inequality in length of limbs, osteochondritis, scoliosis, flat feet, osteoarticular pain, infections, bone tumors and pathologies of neurological origin), as well as traumatic conditions (fractures, sprains, wounds, injuries related to sport), of the musculoskeletal system of children and adolescents.
Some pathologies resolve themselves spontaneously during growth, but others require treatment with splints, casts, physiotherapy or even surgery.
Our specialists work in close collaboration with the pediatric emergency department and are available at all times for the management and follow-up of pediatric orthopedic emergencies.
